A Quick Side Trip to See Eli & Dassi Alon

Their 2 big boys were away in Yeshiva so we didn't get to see them (the New Orleans boys!), and I wish I could have fit the other 10 K"H kids in the shot but I couldn't catch them all! Eli has 3 jobs- he has his own catering company, he works at the Chabad House and something else, forget. Dassi runs the Chabad Soup Kitchen and takes care of the volunteers there.

A Visit to Doda Carmela

Itzik, Ta and I went to see Doda Carmela at her nursing home. The outside is quite nice!Doda Carmela is Safta's sister. I remember when she would come to visit. Safta would be in a whirl of activity...cooking, baking and preparing. When Ta was a little boy he loved when her family would come, because the kids all got to sleep on blankets, on the floor, all over the dining room. Carmela was always the glamorous sister. I remember her in a coiffure of soft blond hair, wrapped onto the top of her head, and always dressed so beautifully.

Visit to Meital's House

A Little Foray Into Tel Aviv

In the car with Itzik and Dassi. Dassi hitched a ride because she has a class in Tel Aviv. We are on our way to brunch with the Perl's. Oh. Whoops. Brunch is in Raanana. But enjoyed the tour of Tel Aviv... we eventually got to the right place!
I love it. Tel Aviv. A big, cosmopolitan city....and then you've got this, too....

Brunch

Brunch in Raanana with Shabi, Elaine, Itzik and Ben (Ta's business friend). Elaine and I laughed from the minute we sat down together. We have the best time! Everyone got shakshuka, except Elaine who got a salad. She looked at the table filled with Shaksuka and said (english accent please) "OOuuu! That's a lut of shakshuka- isN't Iiiit?" I told her- "Kehatys! We love our shaksuka!" It was served in the individual little metal pots. She said, "OOOuuu! Serving it in the puts (pots) they were cuuuked in are theey?" I LOVE HER.
